Ingredients: (serves 6) - 2 lbs sirloin steak - 2 tbsp freshly ground black pepper - 1/4 cup Brandy - 1 clove garlic, crushed< - 2 cups beef stock - 2 tbsp cornstarch - 1/4 cup water - 2 onions, thinly sliced - 1 red bell pepper, sliced - 3 tbsp butter - salt to taste Directions: 1) Trim and cut steak into portion sizes. 2) With a sharp knife, pierce steaks 20 times on each side, about 1/8 inch deep, taking care not to cut through steak. 3) Place brandy in a large bowl with garlic. 4) Add steak pieces and marinate, turning occasionally, for 2 hours. 5) Rub each steak on both sides with pepper, and grill over medium coals until done. 6) Meanwhile, in a saucepan, heat butter and saute onions and red pepper over medium heat until tender. 7) Add beef stock and heat till boiling. 8) Mix cornstarch with water and add to onion mixture, stirring constantly. 9) Heat untill thickened and bubbly, and serve with steak. |
